Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The objective of the game is to score runs by hitting a pitched ball with a bat and then running around a series of bases arranged in a diamond shape. The game is played on a field, which includes an infield and an outfield.

Each team takes turns playing offense and defense; the offensive team attempts to score runs, while the defensive team tries to prevent runs from being scored and to get batters out. A run is scored when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching each of the four bases in order: first base, second base, third base, and home plate.

Baseball is governed by a set of rules known as the Official Baseball Rules, which outline the conduct of play, player conduct, and game structure. The game is divided into nine innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball is popular in various countries, especially in the United States, where it is often referred to as “America’s pastime.”
